Oregon Soccer Club is excited to announce that Danny van Mol will become the club's Director of Coaching heading into the 2024-25 season.

van Mol, who rejoined the Oregon SC coaching staff in Spring 2023, holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National “B” License and a Dutch KNVB Level 3 license. He will replace current club Technical Director Chris Tadley, who will step down from his position following the Spring 2024 season — Chris recently relocated to the Milwaukee area due to his new role as the head women's soccer coach at Carroll University in Waukesha.

"I am honored and thankful for this opportunity to help Oregon SC continue to advance as a community-based soccer organization that has a place for everyone," van Mol said. "Our goal is to develop players into young adults who enjoy the game and have respect for teammates, opponents, coaches and referees, and also foster growth and development beyond soccer."

The club would like to thank Chris Tadley for his many contributions to Oregon SC over the past 18 months. He first joined us as Director of Goalkeeping in Fall 2022 and was named Technical Director in Spring 2023, when he also coached both of our high school-age boys teams.

Tadley, who has more than a decade of college coaching experience at the NCAA Division I and Division III levels and a USSF "C" license, is coaching all three Oregon SC high school-age boys teams in Spring 2024. Over the past year, he also has run training sessions for many other Oregon SC teams, in addition to working with our professional coaches and trainers.

As the Director of Coaching, van Mol will be the primary contact for all coaching and player development topics.

He will oversee Oregon SC professional coaches and trainers, ensuring that club policies and philosophies and U.S. Soccer best practices are being followed. van Mol also will be an excellent resource for the club's many volunteer coaches in our Recreational and In-House programs.

“We're confident that Danny is a great fit for this position and will help continue to lead Oregon SC forward," president Eric Anderson said on behalf of the Oregon SC Board of Directors. "He's embraced our club philosophy, and is committed to the development of Oregon SC players of all ages and levels. He also shares our values when it comes to the importance of being a community club.

"Danny's coaching expertise, experience, engagement and enthusiasm will be a tremendous asset for all Oregon SC players and coaches."

van Mol, a native of the Netherlands, played in the Academy at his hometown club FC Eindhoven for two years and started playing with adult teams when he was 16. In 2001, he was hired as a coach by a Dutch organization that operated summer camps in the U.S. and ended up immigrating.

He played on amateur teams in the U.S., including several years as a player-coach for the Madison 56ers men's team that played in the National Premier Soccer League. van Mol has coached with several youth clubs in the Madison area, including the 56ers, Rush Wisconsin and Princeton SC, and was the coaching director at Magic SC in Madison from 2008 to '15.

van Mol coached at Oregon SC for one season in the early 2000s, then returned to the club in Spring 2023 and has since coached the 2012 Girls Black, the 18U Girls Orange and the 2009/2010 Girls Orange teams. This spring, he's also one of the trainers for our Academy program.

While van Mol is focusing on his Spring 2024 coaching assignments, he also is preparing for the 2024-25 season in his new role.

"As the Director of Coaching, my goal is to work with the coaches and the Board to increase the players' technical ability and game knowledge and raise the level of their play in a fun, open and respectful environment," van Mol said. "Moving into this role with a great group of coaches and volunteers, I am looking forward to what the future will bring for Oregon SC."

Please join us in congratulating Danny on his new role and in wishing Chris the best of luck with Carroll University and in his future endeavors.
