Oregon Soccer Fall Fury Tournament Committee Seeks New Members for 2021

Oregon Soccer Club is seeking several volunteers to serve on the Oregon Soccer Fall Fury Tournament Committee for 2021.

We're looking for a sponsorship coordinator(s) and two at-large committee members.

These positions do not have to be major, time-consuming volunteer positions. We're looking to put together a small- to medium-sized committee to assist the co-directors with tournament planning. Though we might ask for some additional volunteer time during the tournament weekend Oct. 1-3, we're not asking you to commit to helping out the entire weekend.

The sponsorship coordinator position(s) could be filled by one person or multiple people who would work together on a sponsorship team. A sponsorship plan is in place and we're looking for volunteers to help implement it.

The sponsorship coordinator job duties include:

  • Work with tournament co-directors on initiating current sponsorship plan
  • Communicate with past sponsors
  • Identify and contact potential new sponsors
  • Ensure all promised sponsor promotions are in place
  • Arrange for receipt of money
  • Maintain a list of sponsors with addresses and phone numbers
  • Send "thank you" letters to all sponsors after the tournament

The two at-large positions will help out on projects as needed. Potential projects might include:

  • Help finalize vendor agreements and paperwork
  • Assist with organization of field marshals
  • Assist with registration document preparations for tournament weekend
  • Assist with reaching out to families to recruit tournament volunteers
  • Assist sponsorship coordinator(s) once sponsorships are confirmed
  • Miscellaneous projects and organization

In addition to helping us continue our decades-long tradition of putting on a high-quality soccer tournament, tournament committee members are exempt from volunteer requirements for the 2021-22 season.

Proceeds from the tournament help us keep registration fees down, maintain fields and fund scholarships for children whose families need financial assistance to play soccer. Our annual tournament also brings additional revenue to local businesses such as restaurants, convenience stores and hotels.

If you are interested in these positions or have questions about them, please email Fall Fury tournament co-director Robert Zimmerman at
