Two Oregon SC girls teams will compete in the 2017 Wisconsin State Championships this fall.

The tournament, commonly referred to as the State Cup, is run by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association and is part of the U.S. Youth Soccer Championship Series.

The six divisions that feature high school-aged girls (Under-14 through Under-19) are played in the fall to avoid conflicts with the WIAA high school season in the spring. The other State Cup divisions are played in the spring, with group play held over Memorial Day weekend.

The Oregon Orange Under-15 team is seeded ninth out of the 17 sides entered in its division and automatically qualified for group play Oct. 15, 16 and 22. Many players on the team also participated in the Under-13 State Cup competition last spring.

Coach Kevin Gowrie's team is expected to play in a group with top-seeded Strike FC Wisconsin, No. 8 seed Polonia and the winner of the play-in game between 16th-seeded FC Menasha SWAT and No. 17 Pewaukee-Sussex United.

The winners of each of the four groups earn berths in the semifinals Oct. 23. The state finals are scheduled between Oct. 25 and 28, with state champions qualifying for the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships from June 23 to 28 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

All State Cup group play, semifinals and finals will be played at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

Meanwhile, the new Oregon Orange Under-18 team will take on 10th-seeded Parkland in one of three play-in games in its division as it seeks to claim a spot in group play.

Details on the play-in match for coach Robert Bradbury's side will be determined in the near future. Pool play in the Under-18 competition will feature 12 teams.
