Macie Cox scored twice and Jenna Statz added a goal as the Oregon Orange Under-18 girls team topped Parkland 3-0 in a Wisconsin State Championships play-in game Tuesday night in West Allis.

Melia Moyer posted the shutout for Oregon, which advances to State Cup group play Oct. 15, 16 and 22 at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. Coach Robert Bradbury's side will play in Group A with top-seeded SC Waukesha Blue, sixth-seeded NEW United Elite and seventh-seeded Rush Wisconsin in the 12-team competition.

The State Championships are run by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association and are part of the U.S. Youth Soccer Championship Series. The six divisions that feature high school-aged girls (Under-14 through Under-19) are played in the fall to avoid conflicts with the WIAA high school season; the other age groups are contested in the spring, with group play Memorial Day weekend.

The Under-18 team will join the Oregon Orange Under-15 team at the State Cup - the Under-15 side was seeded ninth out of the 17 teams in its division and automatically qualified for group play.

Coach Kevin Gowrie's Under-15 team will play in Group A with top-seeded Strike FC Wisconsin, eighth-seeded Polonia and No. 16 seed FC Menasha SWAT.

The semifinals are set for Oct. 23, with state finals scheduled between Oct. 25 and 28. State champions earn berths in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which are June 23 to 28 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
