Joined Oregon SC: Spring 2023.

Qualifications: Danny currently holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National “B” License (he previously had an "A" license) and a Dutch KNVB Level 3 license.

Playing experience: Danny is from Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and started playing soccer when he was 5 years old. He spent two years on academy teams at FC Eindhoven, and started playing with adult teams at age 16. He also played on amateur teams in the U.S., including being a player-coach for the Madison 56ers men's team that played in the National Premier Soccer League.

Coaching experience: In 2001, Danny joined a Dutch organization that ran summer camps in the U.S. and was assigned to Connecticut. He returned there to coach with a club a few months later, then moved to the Madison area and never left.

Danny has coached with several youth clubs in the area, including the Madison 56ers, Rush Wisconsin and Princeton SC, and was the coaching director at Magic SC in Madison. He also coached an Under-15 boys team for Oregon SC for one season.

Coaching philosophy: It is important to me that my teams have fun, learn and understand the basics of the game and help each other to become better. I always tell my teams to listen and train hard during the week, and then show your parents in games what you have learned at practice. I can show players what to do to get better, but it’s the player who needs to be willing to learn and practice to get better.
