Oregon SC doesn't hold traditional tryouts for our Competitive program.
We don't believe that it is productive to evaluate players who are currently in our Competitive program during a short window during the spring.
Instead, we believe that our coaches' impressions of players from six months of practices and games help provide a more accurate, thorough evaluation in addition to the evaluation sessions.
Oregon SC does not actively recruit players, but if players currently playing for OSC Recreational teams or on teams in other clubs want to be considered for spots in our Competitive program, they can attend our evaluation sessions.
All players wishing to be considered for spots on 2025-2026 Competitive rosters must register for evaluation sessions. Registration costs $25 per player and includes an Oregon SC white practice jersey.
Players born in 2016 are welcome to register for and attend the 2015 evaluation sessions. All other players will try out with their birth year; decisions about playing on a team at an older age group (commonly called "playing up") will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Details
Players are encouraged to attend both evaluation sessions for their age group. If your child is not able to attend either session, please contact the Competitive commissioners and the Director of Coaching (see below) to discuss other possible options.
Evaluation sessions are closed to parents and other observers.
The coaches, evaluators and Director of Coaching will work together to form the team rosters for the 2025-2026 season, using feedback from the 2024-2025 season (where applicable) and the evaluation sessions. Board members do not play any role in roster selection, nor do coaches who have children in a specific age group.
The club does not release details/reports of players' evaluations.

Oregon SC reserves the right to use the early offer option for players who are registered with our club for the 2025-2026 season, as allowed by Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association policy.
The earliest these offers can be sent is May 16, and the earliest they can expire is noon Thursday, June 12 (for 11U-14U/15U players) or noon Thursday, June 19 (for high school-age players).
If an 11U-14U/15U player does not initially receive an early offer, they can still receive an early offer before June 13 and can receive a regular offer on or after June 13.
Note: Per WYSA policy, players who accept early offers or regular offers from a club are not allowed to attend tryouts/evaluations for other clubs.
2025-2026 regular offers to players ages 11U-14U/15U (2015 through 2011 8th-graders) will be sent out at noon Friday, June 13, per Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association policy.
The first regular offers for high school-age boys players (2011 9th-graders through 2007) will be sent out at noon Friday, June 20. (More details on high school-age boys offers above)
Regular offers for high school-age girls players (2011 9th-graders through 2007) will be sent out at noon Friday, June 27.
11U-14U/15U players will have 24 hours to accept or decline offers. High school girls will have 72 hours to accept or decline, while high school boys will have seven days to do so. Not replying is considered declining. If your family needs more time to make a decision, please contact the Competitive commissioners and the Director of Coaching.
According to WYSA policy, accepting an offer is a two-part process, requiring parents:
Both of these items must be completed by the times listed in the offer or the offers become null and void.
We will be using the PlayMetrics system to send out offers and have parents accept/decline offers, which means both of the above steps can be done at once. Please be sure you can receive messages from PlayMetrics.
