A trio of Oregon SC players helped the Madison Futsal League's Forge team win the Under-13 Girls division at the U.S. Youth Futsal Central Region Championships over the weekend in the Kansas City area.
Delaney Hoelker, Katelyn Studebaker and Brittain Scalissi were part of the Forge 2006 team that went unbeaten in five games over the weekend. Hoelker scored twice in the Forge's 3-0 victory over Oklahoma's FC Legacy in Sunday's final; the teams had played to a 3-3 tie earlier in group play.
By winning the regional title, the Forge earned a spot in the USYF National Championships, which are Feb. 15-18 in Kansas City.
Four other Oregon SC players also were part of Forge teams at the event: Kyler Keo was on the 2007 Boys team, which advanced to the Under-12 semifinals, while Maclane Hoelker, Brady Jarstad and Barrett Anderson played on the 2008 Boys team in the Under-11 competition.
