Approximately 200 Oregon SC players, from Under-7 through Under-12, took part in the second annual Oregon High School boys soccer team's mini-clinic on Sept. 12.
Panthers players served as the coaches for the fun 90-minute session, with OSC players moving between stations set up at Huntoon Field and the adjacent practice field. It was a great night for soccer in our community.
Thanks to the OHS players and Panthers coaches Chris Mitchell, Kevin May, Andrew Krenz, Nelson Brownell, Kevin Gasner and Alex Stehle for putting on this excellent event for the next generation of soccer players, and to OSC coaches David Brown and Mike McAllister for their assistance during the session.
And many of those OSC players were back at Huntoon Field six days later as the Panthers celebrated their annual Youth Night with a 5-0 victory over Watertown in a Southern Badger Conference match. Oregon SC teams "adopted" OHS varsity players for the night and expressed their support in a number of ways, and joined the players on the field for pre-game introductions.
