A pair of Oregon SC teams will celebrate Memorial Day weekend by playing in Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association events at the Scheels USA Youth Complex in Appleton.

The Oregon Orange Under-13 boys team will play in the Wisconsin State Championships, commonly referred to as the State Cup.

Oregon is in Group D in the 16-team field,  and coach Kyle Holford's team will take on SC Waukesha Blue (11 a.m. Saturday), Madison FC Gold (9:30 a.m. Sunday) and the Tosa Kickers (11 a.m. Monday) in group play.

The four group winners advance to the semifinals June 2 at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, and the state finals are set for June 3 at Uihlein. The State Cup is part of the nationwide U.S. Youth Soccer Championship Series, and Wisconsin champions qualify for the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships from June 22-27 in Westfield, Ind.

Oregon earned their spot in the State Cup group stages with a 5-1 victory over Rush Wisconsin in a play-in game last month.

Meanwhile, coach Dave Brown's Under-12 girls Orange team will play in the WYSA Spring Spring State Championship Invitational.

Oregon faces Polonia Red at 2 p.m. Sunday, then plays SC Waukesha Blue at 9 a.m. Monday before closing out Group A play at 12:45 p.m. Monday against Madison 56ers Red.

Good luck to both Oregon SC teams!
