First responders play a vital role in our community, providing fire protection and emergency medical services.

The Oregon Area Fire and EMS District responds to more than 1,800 calls per year in the Village of Oregon, the townships of Oregon, Rutland and Dunn and other surrounding communities.

That's why Oregon SC selected OAFED as its 2024-2025 club charity. All of our 6U and older teams will wear red socks during games in May to recognize our local first responders and their great contributions.

Oregon SC will donate a minimum of $4,000 to the Oregon Area Fire and EMS District's Station Project Fund, and individuals can help us add to that total by making donations in our PlayMetrics system. All donations the club receives through that link in May will be included in our donation to the OAFED.

The socks (see below) were made by Pear Sox and provided through our partners at the Soccer Post. Additional socks can be purchased for $10 per pair by emailing Uniform Coordinator Beth Schwantes at uniforms@oregonsc.com.

While it’s important for Oregon SC to foster development, education and enjoyment for our players on the field, we also pride ourselves on being positive members of our community — and teaching kids the importance of giving back to their community, which is part of the reason why we launched a club charity program in 2018.

• 2022-23: Forest green socks for trees, donation to Oregon School District to plant trees near Huntoon Field
• 2023-24: Orange socks for food insecurity awareness, donation to Oregon Area Food Pantry
