Oregon SC teams will have a different look this month — and for a good cause.

All players on Recreational, 6U/7U/8U In-House, Competitive and Academy teams will receive a pair of forest green soccer socks and will wear them for games in May to promote and support our 2022-23 season charity: Planting trees.

The funds raised this season will go to planting trees in our community; specific details will be announced when finalized. Oregon SC will donate a minimum of $3,400 to the project, and individuals can help add to that total by visiting our Demosphere system and making a donation — be sure to put "Trees" in the Donation Remarks space.

Additional socks also can be purchased for $10 per pair by emailing Uniform Coordinator Beth Schwantes at uniforms@oregonsc.com.

While it’s important for Oregon SC to foster development, education and enjoyment for our players on the field, we also pride ourselves on being positive members of our community — and teaching kids the importance of giving back to their community.

This is the fourth season of our seasonal charity program.

During the 2018-19 season, Competitive and Academy teams wore pink socks during games in October 2018 to promote cancer research.

The next season, they wore yellow socks for games in September 2019 to support suicide prevention.

After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the 2021-22 season, players wore blue socks in May 2022 to promote bullying awareness.

Each of these projects were accompanied by financial donations to organizations.
