Oregon SC is pleased to announce Chris Tadley as our Technical Director.

Tadley joined the club last fall as our Director of Goalkeeping and is coaching both of our high school-age boys teams this spring.

"I'm really excited for the opportunity to work with a great group of coaches from the Madison area," Tadley said. "I think this is a unique situation where we can all learn and grow together through conversation and experiences. This will be an awesome way for us to push our learning and growth into the youth of the game."

Tadley, who holds a U.S. Soccer Federation "C" license, originally was in discussions about the club's vacant Boys Technical Director role. However, Bobby Nichols recently stepped down as Girls Technical Director, and the Oregon SC Board opted to consolidate the two positions into one.

We'd like to thank Bobby for his contributions as Girls Technical Director over the past year. Nichols, who also is the Oregon High School girls head coach, will continue to coach Oregon SC teams.

As the Technical Director, Tadley is the primary resource for soccer-related topics, and will work closely with coaches to ensure that Oregon SC policies and philosophies and U.S. Soccer best practices are being followed.

A native of Cherry Hill, N.J., Tadley is heading into his second season working with the goalkeepers in the University of Wisconsin men's soccer program as a volunteer assistant coach.

He also was part of NCAA Division I men's coaching staffs for the previous three years before joining the Badgers last summer — first at Lehigh (2019 and '20) and at Memphis in 2021. On the club level, he's coached at Lehigh Valley United, Olé FC and CTSA, a club he created.

Tadley played at NCAA Division III Albright (Pa.), earning a bachelor's degree in business and elementary education from the school in 2012 and a master’s degree in special education in 2017. He was an assistant for the school's men's program (2012 and '13) and women's program (2012 to '15) before serving as head coach of the Lions men's team from 2016 to '18.

As the Oregon SC Director of Goalkeeping last fall, Chris provided regular training for keepers in the OSC Competitive and Academy programs. Due to his new position, he will not continue in that role this spring — the club hopes to announce our new goalkeeper trainer for Spring 2023 in the near future.

  • Oregon SC also added a new administrative role to the club during the offseason. David Brown accepted this position for the Spring 2023 season, and has been heavily involved in coordinating practice and game schedules and organizing our 2023-24 Competitive Evaluation Sessions. He will continue to be the 8U/9U Boys Academy trainer.
