Earlier today, the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association and the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association suspended all sanctioned activities through April 30 due to the ongoing public health situation related to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. This includes all WYSA and MAYSA programs and leagues, including the leagues in which Oregon Soccer Club teams play.

We understand that many club members have questions. Unfortunately, we simply don't know all the answers. We want to provide you with the latest details we have, but we also want to be careful to provide only accurate information.

Please be aware that this situation is fluid and frequently changing. That said, here is the information that we know right now:

  • Most likely, the earliest possible date that Oregon SC teams could begin practice is Friday, May 1. This date is based on the WYSA/MAYSA suspension of activities, and could change based on future decisions by those organizations and/or the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other state and local authorities.

  • Important: Please do not allow your children to get together with players from other families to practice/play.

  • Acting Director of Coaching David Brown is preparing age-appropriate training programs that players can do at their homes on their own, using videos on the Oregon SC YouTube channel as references. We will distribute these once they are available.

  • The WYSA State League Spring 2020 season has been extended to allow games through July 12 and MAYSA will extend its spring season into "mid-July." (specific date TBA) Another schedule reconciliation period will open soon for teams to reschedule games that are before May 1.

  • Oregon SC coaches David Brown and Mike McAllister are currently in the United Kingdom. Based on the latest U.S. travel policy updates, the earliest they could return to the U.S. is April 13. This date could change based on future developments.

  • Club teams were scheduled to play in several tournaments in April: The Madison 56ers Spring Cup Invitational (April 3-5) was canceled, the PURI Cup College Showcase (April 3-5) was rescheduled for June 26-28 and the Norski Spring Fling (April 24-26) could be canceled or rescheduled. We will work with affected teams to find different events to replace tournaments as needed.

The Oregon SC Board will continue to monitor this situation and communicate any changes accordingly. Thanks for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. We encourage you to heed public health guidelines and wish you and your family the best of health.
