A team must be coached by an individual who is appropriately licensed for the age group and competition level being coached. If the coach is not appropriately licensed, that individual is not eligible to coach the team during sanctioned matches. All coaches, head and assistant, must be properly licensed.

All Oregon SC coaches must watch the U.S. Soccer Introduction to Grassroots Coaching video, a free 20-minute message about coaching young players.
Each Grassroots online course takes approximately 2 hours and costs $25. Oregon SC will reimburse coaches for these costs. To receive reimbursement, email a copy of your payment receipt and proof of completion to your commissioner, along with your mailing address.
Coaches also can take Grassroots courses in person; there is a higher fee for those sessions. Visit this page and select "In-Person Courses" in the left menu. If you're planning to take an in-person course, please contact your commissioner to inquire about reimbursement.
