The Oregon SC Board of Directors recently approved the addition of four new positions: Travel Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Uniform Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator.

The Travel Coordinator will secure blocks of hotel rooms and negotiate room rates for all OSC competitive and Academy teams for tournaments outside the Madison area. In the past, these tasks were handled by individual team managers. With one person overseeing these efforts, we hope to be able to have all OSC teams stay in one or two hotels in a given area, rather than many, helping to reinforce the idea of our teams, players and families as one club. Additionally, we anticipate our families could receive better room rates. Francine Smith has accepted the role of Travel Coordinator and will begin her duties in the spring, when our competitive and Academy teams head to Wausau for MC United's annual Mountain Bay Cup. Tournament dates have not yet been announced.

The Uniform Coordinator will oversee all uniform orders for OSC teams and work with suppliers on prices, ordering and delivery, and collaborate with age-group commissioners, coaches and team managers to handle ordering and distribution. Currently, uniform ordering and distribution is handled by a combination of people, with different processes in place throughout the club. Having one person coordinate all uniform ordering will simplify the process, making it easier on coaches and families, and ideally will lead to reduced cost and waste for the club.

The Volunteer Coordinator will oversee any club initiative that requires volunteer assistance. This person likely will work closely with the Fundraising Coordinator on projects, and also will play an integral role with the annual Oregon Soccer Fall Fury.

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for the club's presence on several social media platforms. This includes creating and promoting Oregon SC accounts on Twitter and Instagram, appropriately posting news, information and photos and replying to comments in a manner consistent with the mission set forth by the club.
